Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son's official visit to China's Guangxi province contributes to further tightening the friendship between the two neighboring countries, building a strategically meaningful Community of Shared Future.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son paid an official visit to China from April 3-4.

This is the official visit to China of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son after more than two years, and right after the two countries determined to build the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future.

The visit of the head of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs took place in the context of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership continuing to develop positively, achieving many important results.

Leaders of the two Parties and countries maintain regular exchanges and contacts, strengthening political trust. The highlight is the visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to China in October 2022, followed by the State visit to Vietnam of Chinese President Xi Jinping in December 2023.

“I believe that the official visit to China by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son in Guangxi will create an important driving force to promote cooperation between ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam and Guangxi.

This makes an important contribution to jointly building a strategically significant Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future," the Vietnamese Consul General in Nanning Do Nam Trung said.

Minister Bui Thanh Son's visit continues to concretize high-level common awareness in maintaining the positive development momentum of relations between the two countries, enhancing political trust and friendly cooperation with China.

This is an opportunity for the two sides to review the focuses of bilateral relations in 2024 and the following years, and agree on directions and measures to implement the agreement on further deepening cooperation in the new period between the two countries' Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

This contributes to elevating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Community of Shared Future.

Important driving force in cultivating relations

At a meeting with the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China Liu Ning on April 3, Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese localities to strengthen cooperation with Chinese localities, including Guangxi.

The Minister requested Guangxi and Vietnamese ministries, branches and localities to continue to maintain and improve the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms, strengthen friendly exchanges, and share experiences in party building, social management, and economic development.

Secretary of the Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Liu Ning affirmed that Guangxi especially attaches importance to friendly exchanges and cooperation with Vietnamese ministries, branches, and localities.

He suggested that the two sides make good use of their potential and strengths, strengthen transportation infrastructure connections, facilitate customs clearance, promote the construction of smart border gates, tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. These positively contribute to building a Community of Shared Future.

With concrete and substantive results achieved, and meaningful activities, Minister Bui Thanh Son's visit to Guangxi created an important driving force to promote the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between ministries, sectors, and localities of the two countries, towards the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future.
