According to Phan Anh Son, in 2024, the VUS needs to focus on strengthening its organization, research and consider organizing a Vietnam Business Week in the US through the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, evaluating, identifying, and building a "map" of partners of VUS and VUFO on the people-to-people channel in relations with the US, and implementing agreements signed by the VUS.

Phan Anh Son wishes the VUS to have more positive activities in the coming time. He said VUFO would constantly accompany the VUS and maintain regular exchanges to better support its activities.

According to the report and statements at the conference, in 2023, there were rapid, complex, and unpredictable changes in the global and regional situation. As Vietnam and the US celebrated their 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Partnership, important diplomatic activities with historical significance were held between the two countries. Notably, the two countries have upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation, and Sustainable Development during US President Joe Biden's official visit to Vietnam from September 10 to 11, 2023.

In that context, the VUS has implemented exciting activities. Notably, it coordinated to organize the "Program to celebrate the 10 years of the Comprehensive Partnership and Prospects of Comprehensive Strategy Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development" hosted by VUFO on December 2, 2023. The program includes a conference “US-Vietnam: 10 Years Comprehensive Partnership in Retrospect and Prospects of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for peace, cooperation, and sustainable development," and a US-Vietnam Friendship Festival that attracted more than 3,000 participants.

In 2023, the VUS welcomed 11 delegations of American friends and partners with diverse backgrounds: peace activists, veterans, relatives of martyrs, students, alumni, friendship ambassadors, and religious-related organizations. The VUS also helped arrange their working schedules in Vietnam. These working programs, contact, and exchange activities help increase the understanding of US friends and partners about Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the people-to-people exchange between the two countries.

Regarding reconciliation and aid mobilization, the VUS coordinates with American veterans organizations and organizations of relatives of American soldiers who fought/died in Vietnam, such as the 2SP, Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), and Veterans for Peace (VFP) to deploy programs to support people in difficult circumstances and victims of Agent Orange and landmines in Vietnam.

It boosted coordination with Vietnam-USA Societies at local levels. The VUS regularly exchanged and coordinated with local member organizations in welcoming delegations and bringing American friends and partners to work in localities. The VUS instructed and advised localities on the process and procedures for establishing local Vietnam-USA Societies.
