Friendship Festival Brings Together Kids from Three ASEAN Nations

On August 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched the 2024 Festival for Children from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. This meaningful event is organized to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Laos (September 5, 1962 - 2024) and the 57th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia (June 24, 1967 - 2024).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of HCM City Ngo Minh Hai emphasized that the festival is an opportunity for children from the three countries to exchange, make friends, and understand each other better, thereby contributing to fostering the spirit of international solidarity and friendship.
The festival featured over 200 children from Cambodia, Laos, and various provinces and cities across Vietnam. At the opening ceremony, delegates paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh by offering flowers and incense and explored the "Uncle Ho and Children" space at the Ho Chi Minh City Children's House.

The festival continued until August 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, with various activities, such as visiting the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Ho Chi Minh City branch), Ho Chi Minh City's Book Street, the Ho Chi Minh City Central Post Office, the Rung Sac War Base Historical Relic Site, and more.
This festival, organized biennially by the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union since 2010, under the assignment of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, introduces the historical traditions, cultural values, and customs of the three countries to the participating children. It also fosters solidarity, friendship, and close relationships among Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
