	120 Ho Chi Minh City's Youth Join Volunteer Activities in Laos

On July 17, the Da Nang Youth Union held a discussion, experience sharing, and the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Cooperation on Youth Union work and youth movements between the Da Nang Youth Union and the Salavan Provincial Youth Union for the 2024-2029 period.

The content of the cooperation agreement for the 2024-2029 period aims to enhance the effectiveness of communication and education work for the young generation of the two localities about the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos in general and between Da Nang and Salavan in particular.

Simultaneously, it seeks to boost support for youth entrepreneurship and startups and to improve the quality of volunteer activities for social welfare.

The Da Nang Youth Union will maintain international volunteer activities in Salavan, strengthen education for the young generation in both localities about the tradition, strategic significance, and special importance of the Vietnam-Laos relations, and facilitate the organization of Vietnamese language classes for Lao officials and Lao language classes for Vietnamese officials by various levels of the Youth Union.

In addition, the Da Nang Youth Union regularly coordinates to organize exchanges and experience sharing between the youths of the two localities in implementing youth union activities, combined with visits and introductions to cultural and historical sites in both localities. Thereby, the solidarity and close bond between the youth of the two units are affirmed.

Nguyen Manh Dung, Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union, expressed his delight at being able to meet with the delegation from the Salavan Provincial Youth Union in the special atmosphere of the two Parties and two States.

The Secretary of the Da Nang Youth Union also emphasized that the cooperative and friendly relationship between the Da Nang Youth Union and the Salavan Provincial Youth Union has been developing strongly, thereby contributing to enhancing cultural and traditional understanding and further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the youth of the two units.

From 2015 to 2024, the Da Nang Youth Union organized over 42 friendship exchange activities between the youths of Salavan and Da Nang to share experiences in organizing youth activities, participating in terms of socio-economic development, and maintaining national defense and security.

In addition, they have promoted exchange activities, supporting thousands of Lao students studying, living, and working in Da Nang, and transferred scientific advances to the people in the Vietnam-Laos border area through the annual “March in Border Area” program.

The Da Nang Youth Union organized a volunteer campaign with various activities including medical examinations, free medicine distribution, and gifts for people in Salavan from 2018 to 2019.
