(VNF) - Nguyen Le Cam Hien, a female chess player from Quang Ninh province, has successfully finished top at the outgoing World Youth and Cadets Championships 2015 in Halkidiki (Greece) from October 24th to November 6th.

After six games she had earned just 6 points and ranked 20th. Fighting back Hien took the next five games from the 7th through to the 11th giving here 9 more points and back to the yop spot.

Equaling points but having surplus, the ELO 1,299 ranking player beat her Hungarian rival Gaal Zsoka to top in the U8 category. The runner-up was Ivanova Dilyana from Bulgary with 8.5 points.

Chess Grandmaster Nguyen Anh Dung and FIDE Master Le Thi Phuong Lien are her parents.

The tour lured the participation of 1,596 athletes from 92 nations/territories, playing under the Swiss system, 11 games for male and 9 games for female. Each player has a maximum 90 minutes for 40 moves and additional 30 minutes to finish the game. Each successful move has 30 second plus.

They competed for standard category in the U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 age-group./.
