Grand parade marks 40 years of reunification

On April 30th, Ho Chi Minh city hosted a military parade and a grand meeting celebrating the 40th anniversary of national reunification.

On April 30th, Ho Chi Minh city hosted a military parade and a grand meeting celebrating the 40th anniversary of national reunification.

Those in attendance included General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, former Party General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu, Nong Duc Manh, State President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung along with numerous former Party and State leaders.

The event, attended by 6,000 people from army and police forces as well as students and representatives from different unions and organization, transpired with the epic highlighting patriotism and national pride.

The parade recalled the images of the forces participating in the 1975 Spring Offensive in 1975 and soldiers advancing towards Saigon.
