The traffickers were Nguyen Thi Huong, 43, from Hanoi’s Hai Ba Trung district, Nguyen Van Tam, 25, Thanh Hoa province’s Hau Loc district and Than Thi Lien, 24, from Bac Giang province’s Viet Yen district.

Previously, through investigations, the police discovered a drug trafficking ring in Hanoi led by Nguyen Thi Huong.

In the afternoon of November 11th, the police arrested Huong and Tam while they were illegally trafficking in the ground of an apartment building in Hanoi’s Tran Khat Chan street and seized 3.5kg of drugs.

Urgently examining Huong’s house, the police discovered and seized total 8.335kg of drugs, VND280 million, two precision scales reacting ketamine, a vacuum extraction machine, two cash counting machines, five mobile phones and many other related exhibits and documents.

Huong confessed that she bought drugs of Than Thi Lien. Urgently examining Lien’s house, the police seized nearly 1.9kg of methamphetamine and nearly 20g of amphetamine

Through investigations, the police defined that Than Thi Lien went to China to buy drugs and then hired Nguyen Van Tam and other people to transport the drugs to hand the forbidden goods over to Huong to sell in Hanoi and neighbouring provinces.

To hide the discovery of police, Huong and her accomplices pided drugs into small packs and concealed in tires of toy cars, mannequins, loudspeakers and covers of coffee and tea.

The case is under further investigation./.
