His Holiness the Je Khenpo consecrates Thubten Choeling Lhakhang in Wangdue Phodrang

The Thubten Choeling Lhakhang, dating back to the 15th century, holds a special place in Bhutan’s cultural and religious heritage. An astounding 70 percent of the total budget, amounting to 110 million ngultrum, came from his generosity and commitment to preserving Bhutan’s cultural treasures.

The remaining funds were sourced from a combination of foreign donors and government support. Foreign donors played a crucial role in contributing 20 percent of the budget, demonstrating the international recognition of Bhutan’s rich cultural heritage.
