Participants engaged in interactive games designed to educate men and father-son pairs about various forms of violence against women and children.

These activities are part of the “Action Month for Gender Equality and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response”, (November 15-December 15), International Men’s Day (November 19), and the global “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign (November 25–December 10).

These events also commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, an international framework for gender equality adopted at the 1995 World Conference on Women.

At the event, participants engaged in interactive games designed to educate men and father-son pairs about various forms of violence against women and children, including physical, emotional, sexual, and economic violence. Delegates also shared insights about the spaces where violence may occur, such as homes, schools, public areas, workplaces, online platforms, and others. Additionally, they listened to experiences and solutions from stakeholders on how to address gender-based violence effectively.

“By fostering understanding and responsibility, we build communities where respect and safety are paramount. Everyone deserves to live a life free from violence,” shared Le Thi Lan Phuong, Program Manager for Ending Violence Against Women and Girls at UN Women Vietnam.

Through these communication activities, the initiative aims to enhance understanding among men and communities, reduce gender-based violence, and create a safe and friendly living environment for all, especially women and children.

The program also strengthens stakeholder collaboration in implementing Ho Chi Minh City’s “Safe and Friendly City for Women and Children Program 2022–2026.”
