The Vice Chairman stated that the HCMC authorities believe that Russian Consul General in HCMC Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich and his fellow diplomats would continue to promote their position as a bridge, thereby contributing to the further development of the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in general, and the friendship between HCMC and Russian ministries, branches, and localities in particular.
Speaking at the ceremony, Consul General of Russia in HCMC Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich shared the historical significance of Russia's National Day. Accordingly, Russia is proud of the achievements and military victories of previous generations, while valuing the past, the great history, rich traditions and heritage of the Russian people.
The Russian diplomat also affirmed that Russia's foreign policy prioritizes strengthening equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam.
According to him, Vietnam and Russia's more than 70-year cooperation has always been warm and trustworthy as the two nations have closeness, share history, and have a rich culture deeply rooted in national identity. Both countries share essential qualities such as patriotism, determination to fight foreign invaders, diligence, creativity, and humanity.
The Treaty on Principles of Friendly Relations between the Russian Federation and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was signed 30 years ago, allowing the two countries to cooperate actively and comprehensively. The Consul General of Russia in HCMC expressed his hope that through cooperative efforts, Russia and Vietnam would achieve all of their goals for the benefit of the two peoples, as well as for regional peace and security.
HCMC and Russian localities have a lot of potential for cooperation, especially in areas of mutual interest, such as responding to climate change, trade cooperation, tourism, and education and training.
