Hue University presents honorary title to Japanese professors
(VNF) - The Hue University in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on September 9th presented the Honorary Professor title to two Professors: Kiyoshi Morita and Kim Doo-Chul, who are working at the Okayama University, Japan.

The two professors have contributed to fostering cooperation between the Hue University and Okayama University in training and scientific research, notably the international postgraduate programme on the sustainability of rural and environmental system, which has been implemented since 2007.
Prof. Kiyoshi Morita and Prof. Kim Doo-Chul are the 25th and 26th professors awarded honorary professors by Hue University.
Prof. Kiyoshi Morita, the rector of the Okayama University, has also carried out many research projects on community development in Hue, and waste treatment and management of natural resources in Vietnam.
As a coordinator of the Hue-Okayama Postgraduate Programme, Prof. Kim Doo-Chul has built and implemented cooperation programmes between the two universities via scientific workshops, exchanges of students and joint scientific research.

On this occasion, Prof. Kiyoshi Morita respectfully awarded the certificate of Honorary Doctorate to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Toan, President of Hue University. He was the 4th professors, who was conferred the title of honorary doctorate by Okayama University for great contributions to the development of cooperation with Okayama University.
Earlier, on July 19th, in Japan, Okayama University held an event to honor President Toan for his exceptional leadership from the beginning stages of course development and his efforts to expand international exchange programs for both universities.
The Okayama University and the Hue University established cooperative ties in 2005 and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tertiary training in 2006. The Japanese university has granted scholarships to many students from the Hue University to help them pursue higher education in Japan./.
