President of VHFA Le Minh Triet lauded the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the past 66 years.

He added that Vietnam always regards the friendship with Hungary as a valuable asset that needs to be inherited, preserved and developed by present and future generations for the benefits of the two peoples.

Mr. Triet highlighted the achievements the two countries have recorded in politics, economics, culture, science, technology, and especially education. Hungary grants 100 governmental scholarships each year to Vietnamese students and post-graduates from 2016.

High quality education of Hungary attracted many young Vietnamese. In addition to the government-funded scholarships, HCM city has about 200 self-funded students studying in Hungary, especially at the University of Debrecen.

Two-way trade between two countries has developed strongly and effectively; however, the outcomes have yet to be on par with their potential. Each country has certain advantages. Vietnam has young populations and productive labour forces. Hungary is a country with science and technology development, with advanced education. The two countries can complement each other.
