International Friends Look Forward to Celebrating 75 Years of Vietnam-Hungary Relations

Dr. Levente Horvath, Director of the Eurasia Center and Editor-in-Chief of Eurasia Magazine under John von Neumann University (Hungary) expressed his hope that Eurasia Magazine would provide more information regarding Vietnam's innovation and development achievements.

According to Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Central and Eastern Europe, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, recently received Dr. Levente Horvath, Director of the Eurasia Center and Editor-in-Chief of Eurasia Magazine under John von Neumann University in Hungary.

Dr. Levente Horvath expressed gratitude for the Embassy's recent cooperation with the Magazine, particularly the Ambassador's exclusive interview published in the latest issue of Eurasia magazine about traditional friendship relations, unity, multi-faceted cooperation, and Comprehensive Partnership between Vietnam and Hungary on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Hungary in January 2024.

In addition, he said this is also a good first step for the cooperative relationship between the Embassy and the Journal. He also expressed his wish that the two organizations continue to cooperate more closely on aspects such as strengthening educational cooperation between John von Neumann University and Vietnamese universities; and posting other articles about Vietnam from the perspective of Vietnamese people in the fields of economics, politics, culture, tourism, and cuisine to increase the understanding of the Hungarian people about the recent achievements of the revolution developed by the Vietnamese people.

Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao stated that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Hungary has developed over the past 70 years and is frequently reinforced and strengthened through visits by senior officials from both countries. The Ambassador also expressed her willingness to provide up-to-date information on Vietnam's development situation to a wide range of Hungarian readers to promote closer cohesion, narrow the cultural gap, and build trust, thereby contributing to economic development, trade, tourism, and labor of the two countries.

According to the Vietnamese Ambassador, Vietnam-Hungary relations will have significant events in the next years, particularly the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations in 2025. The two countries will engage in a variety of cultural, economic, and business cooperation initiatives, including delegation visits and exchanges at all levels.

The diplomat stated her wish to continue cooperating with Eurasia Magazine. In his part, Dr. Levente Horvath was delighted to announce his willingness to dedicate a separate issue to celebrate 75 years of Vietnam-Hungary relations (1950-2025).

Eurasia Magazine is published by the Center for Eurasian Studies under John von Neumann University, which was established and funded by Hungary's Central Bank to give policy advice to the Hungarian government and enterprises. The journal publishes in-depth research papers monthly in English and quarterly in Hungarian. At the same time, the magazine frequently updates with publications and articles regarding Hungary's relations with Asian countries in a variety of fields, including technology, infrastructure, economic policy, geopolitics, culture, and sports.
