At the invitation of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, Tham Ly (born in 1954, Guangxi, China), a nurse at Guilin, China who took care of the wounded and sick soldiers from Vietnam, said “I felt like I was returning home. In my heart, the friendship between Vietnam and China is truly indescribable, as close as brothers and sisters."

William Schilardi (L) said, when fighting on the front lines of Dien Bien Phu battle, he was injured five times. However, he never once blamed the Viet Minh arm. He was grateful that they carried him on a makeshift crutch on their 700 km walk.
