Israeli Embassy donates 100 wheelchairs to children with disabilities

Ambassador of Israel to Vietnam, Meirav Eilon Shahar, handed over wheelchairs to 20 children at the Viet Han Orthopedic and functional rehabilitation centre in Hanoi on June 20.

According to the embassy, the wheelchairs are specifically designed for children by Wheelchairs of Hope, an Israeli social impact enterprise. The embassy decided to use the fund allocated for celebration of their independence day to pay for the wheelchairs.

Following the suggestion of National Committee of People with disability, the wheelchairs will be given to children with disabilities at Viet Han Orthopedic and functional rehabilitation centre in Hanoi, HCMC Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Hospital, Can Tho Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Center, Ben Tre DOLISA and Ha Giang Children Protection Fund.

On June 20, 20 children with disabilities at the Viet Han Orthopedic and functional rehabilitation centre were the first to receive the gifts.

Ambassador of Israel to Vietnam, Meirav Eilon Shahar, said:," We believe that all children are equal. Those with disabilities deserve every chance to achieve equality and we can do this by narrowing the gaps and giving them greater opportunities, building the future by standing together and including everyone."
