To realise the program, the program has set up agricultural production promotion teams and sent volunteers to organise training courses for ethnic minority people in which they learn how to follow effective economic development models or expand production.
Policies set for disadvantaged ethnic minority people have been carried out synchronously, especially those relating to the poor, in order to help them have access to loans for production.
From 2011 to 2015, over VND323 billion was spent on ethnic minority-inhabited and mountainous regions, helping to achieve poverty reduction of 6.6% per year. Thanks to the investment, 80% of mountainous communes had roads leading to the concentrated production areas and 85% of the communes had essential constructions.
From 2016 to 2020, the province strives to reduce the poverty rate by 4-5% per year, raising the average per capita income among ethnic minorities to VND12 million per year.
In its efforts, the province will also help over 98% of households have access to the national power grid, over 95% of mountainous residents have hygienic water to use, and 45% of labourers be trained./.
