Choi Dong Yong, Mayor of Chuncheon city, added that Chuncheon city has Korea's first and most modern biotechnology research center, gathering over 60 enterprises active in biotechnology and has released a range of functional foods certified by the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) and EU-GMP biosimilar protein.

According to Choi Dong Yong, Vietnam is the country with the fastest economic growth rate in Southeast Asia. In addition, its large, youthful population and rising incomes will make Vietnam become a potential market for bio-based products in the years to come.

Truong Thi Nhi, General Director of Lien Hoa Group, a partner of CBF in Vietnam, said that Korean biotech products would help domestic consumers have the opportunity to access and use high quality products that are safe and good for their health.

This is also an opportunity for Korean and Vietnamese businesses to share information and seek cooperation to participate in the supply-distribution chain, whilst further promoting cooperation, development and technology transfer between the two countries.

Korean biotech products will be on display at the Rex Hotel, District 1 until September 1./.
