Long Thanh International Airport final designs await winner
The council responsible for deciding the architecture for the passenger terminal of Long Thanh International Airport has selected three winning designs.

Design LT03, LT04, and LT07 have been submitted to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to make the final choice.
At the meeting of the Ministry of Transport on February 14, 2017, Do Tat Binh, deputy director of Airport Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), said that the council has assessed all the nine architectural plans nominated by the councillors and chose the three designs with the highest scores.
According to Binh,ACV has finished seeking feedbacks from many associations, such as Vietnam Association of Architects, Vietnam Urban Planning and Development Association, Vietnam Construction Association, Vietnam Association on Aviation Science and Technology, and people in four cities, including Hanoi, Danang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai.
During the meeting, Minister of Transport Truong Quang Nghia has requested the council secretary to compile all the details on these three plans, comprising of its forms, materials, and functions, as well as opinions on them, to report to the Prime Minister for approval.
Long Thanh International Airport will be built in three stages. The first stage is to build a runway and one passenger terminal as well as other supporting infrastructure units to serve 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo each year. This stage will be finished by 2025.
At the second stage, one more runway and another passenger terminal will be constructed to push capacity up to 50 million passengers and 1.5 million tonnes of cargo a year. After the third phase, the airport will be able to service 100 million passengers and 5 million tonnes of cargo each year./.
