Male Vietnamese student to attend FameLab in UK

Vu Danh Viet, the student from the University of Engineering and Technology under the Vietnam National University- VNU Hanoi has been chosen as the ambassador to represent Vietnam to attend the FameLab International Final under Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK in June.

Vu Danh Viet, the student from the University of Engineering and Technology under the Vietnam National University- VNU Hanoi has been chosen as the ambassador to represent Vietnam to attend the FameLab International Final under Cheltenham Science Festival in the UK in June.

The contest to select the ambassador was organized in Hanoi with the participation of 12 candidates who are young scientist, lecturers and students from different fields of science and technology in Hanoi, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh cities.

The first prize was given to Vu Danh Viet, two second prizes were given to Cao Van Tam and Nguyen Quang Dao, both students from University of Science under the Vietnam National University – VNU Hanoi. Two third prizes were given to Nguyen Thi Thu Dieu from Ho Chi Minh city University of Technology and Hoang Thi Nam Phuong, lecturer from the Ho Chi Minh city University of Social Science and Humanities.

Candidates winning prizes are also given scholarships of an English course MyClass at the British Council.

FameLab has been operating in the UK at Cheltenham Science Festival since 2005 and has become a typical successful model to train and guide inpiduals, scientists, engineers, lecturers about how to connect with the public through presentation of their scientific projects. Participants in FameLab present a topic of science, technology and engineering to connect and attract the audience in a maximum of three minutes./.
