Of this, the rate of trained labourers will reach up to 60 per cent in total.
In this year, the ministry will focus on increasing the quality of the employment service system, implementing solutions to stabilise and expand the labour export market, and strictly managing and protecting the interests of Vietnamese labourers working overseas.
In order to continue fulfilling employment targets for 2018, the ministry has requested relevant authorities to conduct further measures to develop the labour market and to intensify research and forecast on labour market data, in order to develop the labour market sufficiently.
Statistics from the ministry showed that in 2017, more than 1.63 million people nationwide had jobs.
Over 135,000 workers went to work abroad under contract, reaching 127.6 per cent of the plan.
In addition, in 2017, the unemployment rate for urban labourers reduced to 3.18 per cent. Of that, the percentage of trained workers was 56 per cent./.
