Morocco, Vietnam boost scientific information exchange, research
(VNF) - The Institute for Africa and Middle East Studies (IAMES) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and the Moroccan Centre for Studies and Research in Social Sciences on March 28th inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote the exchange of scientific information.
This memorandum, the first of its kind to be signed by the two higher educational institutions in Morocco and Vietnam, is meant to promote cooperation in common research projects.
They will create favourable conditions for the sharing of research results and scientific publications while discussing the possibility of rotationally hosting meetings, workshops and forums, and similar events with the participation of a third party.
Under the terms of the freshly-signed document, mutual visits by their scholars, experts and researchers will also be facilitated.
IAMES Director Assoc. Prof. and Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung considered the agreement as an important step in bilateral cooperation, opening up new prospects for partnership in research, training and policy consultation.
At the international scientific conference on the shared historical memory between Vietnam and Morocco in Hanoi on March 27th.
The signing of the MoU is part of the celebration of the 56th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Vietnam. It also coincides with an international scientific conference, held under the theme “The Shared Historical Memory between Vietnam and Morocco” in Hanoi on March 27th.
Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam, Azzedine Farhane at the conference, hailed the maturity of the bonds that tie Morocco and Vietnam to one another, adding that the shared historical memory between Morocco and Vietnam serves as a solid platform to reinforce and widen bilateral relations to include initiatives of South-South cooperation in Africa and Eastern Asia.
The meeting, which took place a few days after the establishment of the Morocco-Vietnam Friendship Association, was an opportunity for researchers to study the social, human and historical aspects of the shared historical memory.
Also on March 28th, a delegation of Morocco’s High Commission for Former Resistance Fighters and Member of the Liberation Army, led by its High Commissioner Dr. El Mostafa El Ktiri, had a meeting with Mr. Don Tuan Phong, Vice President in-charge and General Secretary of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organization (VUFO)./.
