Reports from labour export enterprises showed that in October alone, 8,857 labourers went to work abroad. The Taiwanese (China) market was the largest market for Vietnamese labourers with 4,415 labourers, followed by Japan (2,112 labourers), the Republic of Korea (843 labourers), Malaysia (838 labourers), Saudi Arabia (302 labourers), Macau (China) (40 labourers), and others.

This year, a wide range of labour cooperation deals has been signed, opening up many employment opportunities for Vietnamese labourers. The Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) has signed and implemented the memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Korea on sending Vietnamese labourers to work in the country based on Employment Permit System (EPS) while it has also signed bilateral labour cooperation deals with Thailand and Malaysia.

For labour markets which require highly qualified labourers, the MOLISA has signed a cooperation deal to send labourers to work as assistants to the elderly in Germany. This is a chance to increase the number of guest workers to Germany to 500-700 per year./.
