Nearly 200,000 tons of rice provided for poor pupils
From 2013 to 2016, the Government has given a total of 196,000 tons of rice from the national reserves in assistance to over 500,000 poor pupils every year across 49 provinces and cities.

In the 2015-2016 school year alone, the General Department of State Reserves has distributed over 72,000 tons of rice to over 540,000 poor pupils in 49 provinces and cities.
Mr. Pham Phan Dung, Head of the General Department of State Reserves, said that since 2016, the department has worked with the National Assembly Ethnic Minorities Committee to organise 3 inspections on the implementation of the Prime Minister’s decision on rice distribution to poor pupils.
Inspections showed that despite inconvenient traffic conditions in some localities, the rice has been allocated timely and adequately./.
