This year, flower villages in Sa Dec city and Can Tho city are supplying many new flower varieties to the market to meet the demand during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) of the Monkey.

For Tet 2016, Sa Dec flower village in Dong Thap province supplies over 3 million flower baskets of all kinds.

Besides the traditional flowers such as chrysanthemum morifolium, Tiger daisy, Taiwan daisy and petunia, this year, growers in Sa Dec city have grown new flowers favored by many people, such as the color changing rose, huntington rose and eustoma russellianum.

The Sa Dec city Economic Department said that the project management unit of Sa Dec city is completing its bid to build Cai Do – Ong Thung flower street with a total budget of over VND14 billion. This is the 2nd flower street in the city of Sa Dec after Sa Nhien – Cai Do flower street, which was inaugurated in 2015.

While in Can Tho city, districts are preparing over 1.5 million flower baskets to sell on Tet holiday. The flower cooperatives in Binh Thuy district alone supply more than 350,000 flower baskets with many new and high value varieties.

Artisans from Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province, known as the kingdom of flowers and ornamental plants in the country, have supplied millions of products, with a variety of ornamental plants shaped into very eye-catching animals./.
