On May 10^th, the Hanoi Party Committee held a meeting to review 5 years of the implementation of the Politburo’s decree on continuing to increase the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s example in ethics.

Addressing the meeting, Nguyen Van Phong, a member of the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Board, Head of the Hanoi Party Committee Commission on Popularization and Education, confirmed that the campaign had been synchronously carried out by the whole city Party Committee and all classes of people.

The implementation has been connected with the realization of the 4^th PCC meeting resolution (term XI) on some urgent issues on the current Party building, large working agendas of the city Party Committee (term XV), the programs on the city’s administrative and urban order emulation, contributing to fulfil the political, economic and social missions of the city and of different agencies.

“Creative ways of implementing the campaign have helped raise people’s ethics, struggle against inpidualism and opportunism, push back corruption and wrongdoings among cadres, Party members and people,” said Mr. Phong. “Tens of thousands of outstanding examples have been reported and praised over the past 5 years.”

Speaking at the event, Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, affirmed that the results had contributed to the city’s socio-economic development, ensuring defence and security, as well as building a pure and strong Party and political system.

He stressed that the implementation of the Politburo’s decree also meant a renewal in leadership and working method of the city, continuing to push administrative reform, raising high the sense of responsibility at work to serve people and enterprises in the best way.

He asked for increased dissemination of good working models as well as outstanding collectives and inpiduals that can have an effective influence on communities.

During the meeting, the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee awarded certificates of merit for 49 collectives and inpiduals who had made great contribution to the implementation of the decree on continued study and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s example in ethics./.
