During the visit, Dao Ngoc Dung, CPV Online Newspaper Editor-in-Chief, briefed him on the operation of the newspaper, stressing that some 18 million readers access the newspaper each week. In particular, the newspaper has developed and put into good operation the pages on President Ho Chi Minh and the 12th National Party Congress, with over 30 million accesses to the page of the 12th National Party Congress during the week of the Congress.

So far 83 press agencies at the central and local levels have signed agreements to cooperate in disseminating information with the newspaper. With 17 departments, including the departments running the English, French and Chinese pages, the newspaper has contributed to better external information work and struggle to protect the nation’s sea and island sovereignty.

According to Mr. Dung, in 2016, the newspaper will focus on disseminating information about production, the realization of the 12th National Party Congress resolution, the election to the 14th National Assembly and the election of delegates to the People’s Council at all levels for the 2016-2021 period, and the struggle to reject wrong information and viewpoints promoted by hostile forces.

Addressing the CPV Online Newspaper staff, Vo Van Thuong congratulated them for the newspaper's achievements, stressing that in 2015, the newspaper had realised its missions well in the context of complex developments in the world and hardships that the country had to face.

Noting that 2016 is the first year to realise the 12th Party Congress resolution and to elect deputies to the 14th National Assembly and to the People’s Council at all levels, it was very important for the newspaper to disseminate information so that cadres, Party members and people had a good awareness and correct understanding about the party guidelines, as well as the State policies and laws.
