Oldest highschool in Hanoi granted Label FrancEducation
The Label FrancEducation was recently granted to Chu Van An Highschool (Hanoi), as an official international accreditation for schools offering French bilingual program.

Label FrancEducation seal is granted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to schools having high qualified French bilingual teaching program or at least one subject is taught in French to promote French language and culture in schools of foreign countries, including Vietnam.
The installation of Label FrancÉducation was held on September 25, at the presence of French Ambassador to Vietnam Nicolas Warnery, President of the France – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Catherine Deroche and French senate delegation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Principal of Chu Van An Highschool Le Mai Anh said: “Label FrancEducation seal is an award to recognize the efforts of our school’s teachers and students”, adding that French bilingual program provides not only language knowledge and skills, but also helps the students get ready for perse career prospect in the future.
In her speech, the Principal also emphasized that the seal had raised the level of the cooperation between Vietnam and France in educational aspect. Moreover, she affirmed Chu Van An Highschool’s commitment to enhance the teaching quality to help students to become a bridge of Vietnam and France.
At the event, President of the France – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group Catherine Deroche spoke highly of the teaching quality of Chu Van An Highschool. She was glad to witness the increasing importance of French language teaching in the education of Vietnam, since the debut of the bilingual program in Vietnam since the 1990s.
Accoring to Catherine Deroche, 13,000 Vietnamese students have been benefited from the bilingual program which not only provides solid foundation of language, but also the environment to learn about the French culture since very young age.
Being recognized as member of the Label FrancEducation network creates opportunities for the school to get access to digital French learning and teaching contents, as well as high quality training programs in both Vietnam and France.

According to President of the France – Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group, Label FrancEducation seal was an assertion of the support of the French government to Vietnam’s education reform.
Vietnam is the pillar of the Francophonie in Asia. In the world, 275 million people speak French, and based on the trend of the population growth, French is forecast to become the third spoken language in the world by 2050. Nowadays, there are around 7,000 Vietnamese students studying in French universities.
