More than 120 businesses and units of Vietnam and Laos will display their products at the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2018 in Vientiane from June 28th- July 2nd, according to a press conference held by the two countries’ ministries of industry and trade and ministries of defence on June 25th.

More than 120 businesses and units of Vietnam and Laos will display their products at the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2018 in Vientiane from June 28th- July 2nd, according to a press conference held by the two countries’ ministries of industry and trade and ministries of defence on June 25th.

The fair, themed “Cooperation, friendship and development”, will feature a display of high-quality products at over 200 booths covering a total area of 6,000 m2.

Vietnamese businesses are set to showcase their typical products such as textiles-garment, leather and footwear, agro-forestry-aquatic products, handicrafts, processed food, electrical and electronic equipment, mechanical and chemical products, construction materials, fertilisers, and animal food.

There will be an exhibition area displaying photos on the two countries’ traditional friendship and economic activities of the Vietnam People’s Army, and a business-to-business meeting to help Vietnamese and Lao companies enhance trade, investment and business partnerships.

Participating businesses will visit Luang Prabang province of Laos and Udon Thani province of Thailand to survey the local markets as part of the event.

The Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2018, part of Vietnam’s national trade promotion programme, is an important economic, political and social activity aiming to reinforce the time-honoured and special solidarity and friendship between the people and armies of the two countries.

Last year’s two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Laos reached over USD 900 million, up 10 per cent over 2016 and both nations are striving to lift their two-way trade value to USD 5 billion by 2020 as committed by the two governments./.
