Pham Viet Thanh holds Secretary of Central Businesses Bloc’s Party Committee

On April 12th, the Party Committee of the Central Businesses Bloc organized a meeting to realize the Politburo’s decision on its personnel.

Accordingly, the Politburo appointed Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, member of the 12th Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Board of the Central Businesses Bloc’s Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines Corporation as Secretary of the Central Businesses Bloc’s Party Committee (tenure 2015-2020).

Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, member of the PCC Secretariat and Head of the PCC Commission for Organization, said Mr. Pham Viet Thanh was basically trained in aviation and spent his full career in the aviation industry. He is considered exemplary of a generation of leaders full of skill, spirit and enthusiastic.

With the governance mind of always appreciating the human element and ensuring effective business, he brought significant breakthroughs for the Vietnam civil aviation industry in general and the Vietnam Airlines Corporation in particular, such as the successful implementation of a restructuring plan approved by the Prime Minister with the focus on privatizing Vietnam Airlines, arranging and consolidating units and improving the quality and efficiency of business operation.

He and the Standing Board of the Party Committee proposed some policies to party organizations and centrally-governed agencies to improve the operation efficiency of party organizations, creating common strength for guidance.

Mr. Pham Minh Chinh believed that Mr. Pham Viet Thanh, with his competence and experience, will fulfil the assignments on his position, contributing to successfully realizing the Resolutions of the 12th National Party Congress./.
