Mrs. Mai welcomed and spoke highly of the religious dignitaries’ belief in the guidelines, policies and law of the Party and State, urging them to continue contributing valuable comments not only on issues of religion and beliefs but also on the country’s socio-economic issues.

She believed that all religious dignitaries will continue to perform their responsibility as representatives for religious followers and people and together develop the country towards democracy, justice, prosperity and civilisation.

The religious dignitaries elected as NA deputies thanked the Party and State for trusting them and thanked the people for electing religious dignitaries to the NA, the people’s highest representative body, so that they could convey the voice of religious followers and the people nationwide in relation to the nation’s significant issues.

They pledged to continue calling on religious followers and people to unite and live in harmony despite their differences as well as exert joint efforts to construct and develop the country.

After the Independence Day, the late President Ho Chi Minh declared religious freedom and hoped for solidarity among people with different beliefs. Since then, the Party and the State have continually respected the freedom of religious belief and worship, given religions are part of the spiritual life of people.

Over the past time, religious organisations as well as religious dignitaries have worked closely with Party organisations and the all-level Vietnam fatherland fronts and participated actively and effectively in patriotic emulation movements.

As NA deputies, religious dignitaries have well performed mass mobilisation work in leading religious followers and people to comply with the law, and well fulfilled the responsibility of representing the people, making great contributions to national construction and protection./.
