Talking nonsense on social networks; pretending to be “building civil society”; abetting hackers to confound the networks so as to provoke the masses to stand against the authorities, are some of the inexpert, clumsy antics that are being implemented by Vietnam Reform Party (VRP).

1.To deceive by “non-violent resistance”

Currently, under the guise of non-violent resistance, VRP incites compatriots abandoning rice fields to go demonstrate; provokes adolescents to slide into illicit activities, distracting them from their studies and disordering social security. They publicly distort the Party; spread demagogic ideas; and praise pluralism, multi-party system and democracy.

Post 2: Clumsy and ridiculous antics

VRP has translated numerous documents and movies about non-violent resistance, organized many both online and offline training courses. The form of non-violent resistance, in fact, turns out to be false claims, smear and distortion the Party and the State, for their attempt to hit to the credulousness of the majority of people.

VRP continuously offered contractor arguments to oppose the policy line of the Party and the State, but no matter how various their modes of operation are, their nature still remains unchanged.

2. “Building civil movement in Vietnam”

Besides non-violent resistance, VRP also has many other tricks, such as building civil movement in Vietnam through the active participation of VRP’s members both overseas and at home, supporting means of action and assisting finance.

Their provision of means and finance is just an illusion to fool subjects at home that VRP has abundant financial conditions poured from non-governmental organizations. By that, they provoke, entice the masses, disturb in some hot spots and thereby find an excuse to intervene. They pretend to be “building civil society” to perform their games, however, through the harassing activities, they expose the truth that there is not any civil movement excepting their evil purpose and intentions. With the backing of reactionaries overseas, they play their tricks in hopes of diminishing the people’s trust in the Party and the government.

3. Denunciations of human rights violations in Vietnam

Denouncing human rights violations in Vietnam, VRP advocates the United Nations, non-governmental organizations and media agencies reclaiming freedom for prisoners against the regime. Several major campaigns can be mentioned such as UPR in 2014, the campaign for press freedom in 2014, and the campaign for prisoner of conscience in 2015.

In recent years, VRP has continuously implemented campaigns denouncing human rights violations in Vietnam. They organized campaigns for press freedom and prisoners against the regime with an aim to reclaim the freedom of speech, and struggle for justice. However behind these words is a range of illegal activities. In the past, VRP assassinated those not of the same opinion; killed people they suspected; killed people within their organization who did not comply with the orders of the head of the organization or quit the organization; and forced Vietnamese people to pay for their organization.

Prisoners of conscience, in fact, are those who were arrested for involvement in illicit activities against the government. But according to VRP, they duped people by the term “prisoners of conscience” – being the ones arrested because they dared raise their voices. With different ties, they rely on support from non-governmental organizations, figuring out solutions to help these prisoners, as a way of “comforting and encouraging”.

4. To abet go beyond the firewall, break cyber safetyVRP supports Internet freedom, going beyond the firewall, cyber safety clearance. The main purpose of these activities is to implement online illegal activities, such as the establishment of the reactionary websites, the concatenation of organizations, dragging members, and gathering protesting. They established separate websites in the name of promoting, training and helping Vietnam netizens go beyond the firewall, break cyber safety. Essentially, it is to promote the transmission of information, take advantage of the current information exploration to “state” false information on forums and websites so as to fabricate or distort the truth, strengthening their intrigues against the country.

Post 2: Clumsy and ridiculous antics

Though in the name of the country’s sovereignty protectors, VRP really just use the conflict in the South China Sea as a political highlight, serving their illegal intrigue, such as the anti-government protests in Vietnam. By pulling Vietnamese people into protests, riots and marches, they have caused a lot difficulties for the country’s security forces. This is the work for the country, for independence and sovereignty, or merely for the benefit of themselves?
