In particular, on President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, students are encouraged to visit the library to read books and learn more about the President. As an active participant in art activities on President Ho Chi Minh, Pham Truong Thien An, a 12th-grade student, said the President symbolizes boundless compassion and tolerance.

Having lived in Laos with her parents from a young age, An heard stories about Vietnam’s history and culture, especially on significant occasions, including Vietnam’s National Day (September 2), Reunification Day (April 30), and President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19).

From these family stories, An learned that President Ho Chi Minh was a figure of immense kindness and dedication to Vietnam’s national liberation. This has motivated her to enthusiastically participate in school activities related to him and her home country.

In a recent “Drawing President Ho Chi Minh” competition, An and her classmates created a portrait of Uncle Ho, accompanied by a lotus, the national flower of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese flag.

Though each student portrayed him in their own way, President Ho Chi Minh was consistently depicted as simple, approachable, kind, and revered. An shared that through her drawing, she wanted others to feel the warmth and kindness in his face and gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam.
