Cuban Researcher: Ho Chi Minh's Ideology In Hearts Of Revolutionaries

In a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) on the occasion of the 55th death anniversary of the Vietnamese leader (September 2, 1969 - 2024) and 55 years of implementing his testament, Argentinian journalist Gaston Fiorda who has spent years studying Vietnam’s history, said that throughout his revolutionary career in the 20th century, Ho Chi Minh, a talented leader and a world-level intellectual, left precious legacies for Vietnam and progressive people around the globe.

He held that the President’s progressive ideology is still invaluable nowadays, remaining a source of support for the Vietnamese people and others worldwide to fight for peace, national independence, freedom, and happiness.

What the leader left holds great and profound significance, creating a solid foundation for national safeguarding, post-war recovery, reform, door opening, socio-economic development, and strong international integration that Vietnam has been doing. He nurtured and inspired the country’s aspiration for prosperity, happiness, and extensive integration into the world, Fiorda continued.

In an interview with VNA, Carlos Aznarez, Editor-in-chief of the Argentinian newspaper Resumen Latinoamericano described Ho Chi Minh as an eminent soldier of the international communist and workers’ movement who connected the Vietnamese revolution with the world’s.

He noted realizing that the Vietnamese revolution was part of and had close links with the proletarian revolution and the national liberation movement in colonized countries, the President advocated promoting international solidarity in the principle of equality of nations and mutually beneficial cooperation.

The Argentinian journalist hailed Ho Chi Minh’s devotion of his entire life to the struggle for independence and freedom for the Vietnamese people.

Inheriting and building on the country’s traditional values while acquiring progressive thoughts on national independence and freedom in the world, the leader developed a system of viewpoints on national independence and freedom that reflects the inevitable law of Vietnam’s revolution, Aznarez said, expressing his regret that Ho Chi Minh had passed away six years before his national reunification dream came true.

In his testament, Ho Chi Minh showed his iron belief in the people’s strength and great determination in winning the resistance war against the US and regaining independence and territorial integrity.

His desire expressed in the testament was fulfilled when the Paris Peace Accords were signed in January 1973 and later the General Offensive and Uprising in the 1975 Spring, whose peak was the victory of the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, marking the successful conclusion of the resistance war against the US to liberate the South and reunify the country.

Aznarez held that amid extensive globalization and international integration nowadays, Ho Chi Minh’s teachings about international solidarity remain relevant, scientific, and practical.

To the Vietnamese President as well as other contemporary revolutionary leaders, solidarity was always an extremely important issue, the journalist noted, adding that the Communist Party of Vietnam has always strived to encourage fraternal parties to support the noble spirit of international solidarity.

He perceived that given the increasing conflicts around the world, it is necessary to thoroughly study Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and consider this as the lodestar guiding the thought on national liberation.
