Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of the government arrived at Haneda International Airport in Tokyo at 2:30 pm (local time) of June 4th, beginning his five-day official visit to Japan, and for attendance of the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia, at the invitation of Japanese PM Shinzo Abe.

As scheduled, an official welcome ceremony and talks between PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe will take place on June 6th.

During his stay, the Vietnamese Government leader will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the 23rd International Conference on the Future of Asia, and have a dialogue with participants.

He will preside over an investment promotion conference in Tokyo, and witness the signing of cooperation agreements between ministries, sectors and enterprises of the two countries.

The Vietnamese official and his spouse visited the Vietnam Embassy and talked with the Vietnamese community in Japan.

He spoke highly of sound performance and contributions the embassy has made in boosting Vietnam – Japan intensive strategic partnership across multiple fields.

The PM said cooperation potential between the two countries remain extensive based on mutual trust and their respective strengths that could supplement each other.

He asked the embassy and Vietnamese expats to promote bilateral cooperation programmes in all fields.

PM Phuc recommended the embassy to implement the protection of Vietnamese nationals in Japan and support the expatriates in their living and studying./.
