Prof. To Ngoc Thanh re-elected as Chairman of Vietnam Folklore Arts Association
With a majority of votes, Professor and Doctor, To Ngoc Thanh has been re-elected as Chairman of the Vietnam Folklore Arts Association (VFAA) at the seventh National Congress held in Hanoi from May 26th-27th.
The congress reviewed the association’s achievements during the last tenure and discussed the action plan set for the 2015-2020 term. The delegates elected the 13-member executive board for the new term.

Addressing the congress, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee Commission of Popularization and Education, Dinh The Huynh, praised the association’s efforts and achievements in the last tenure.
He expressed his hope that the congress would devise a plan for the association’s upcoming five-year tenure in the spirit of promoting members’ solidarity and responsibilities in preserving and promoting Vietnam’s folk cultural values.
The association now has over 1,000 members across the country. The members have completed 721 research projects and published 1,000 projects. In the last tenure, 285 members have been honoured as folk artisans./.
