(VNF) - Australian fruits are enjoyed around the world all year-round, and top-quality Australian table grapes are in season now and available in Vietnam.

The country is well known as a reliable supplier of top-quality fresh fruits, such as table grapes. This reputation is enhanced by Australia’s clean and green credentials forged by the best-practice food safety management, quality assurance systems and the environmental stewardship of Australian farmers and land managers.

“A broad range of fruits and vegetables are available for export virtually year-round, thanks to a range of climatic zones and growing conditions in Australia. The Australian horticultural industry focuses on research and development, and new production techniques helps producers meet the changing requirements of international markets and offer new varieties for evolving consumer tastes and lifestyles,” said Ms Janelle Casey, Senior Trade Commissioner at the Australian Embassy, Hanoi.

Table grapes are one of Australia’s most valuable horticultural exports, with more than half of production destined for international markets.

Currently, there is a strong demand from Vietnamese consumers for fresh, tasty ingredients that are safe and healthy, and this is helping drive demand for fresh Australian products such as table grapes.

The month-long retail promotion covers key supermarkets and shops of Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam and Klever Fruits. Shoppers and their families can enjoy the sweet, safe and healthy freshness of Australian table grapes through sampling activities at weekends this April. Special prices on Australian table grapes are being offered at Metro until April 26th and Klever Fruits until May 5th.

To provide further support for Australian horticulture exports to Asia, a delegation of Australian industry bodies visited Hanoi from April 19th-20th to explore business opportunities and attend high level horticulture meetings during Taste of Australia./.
