Save the Children raises awareness about child drowning prevention in Quang Ngai
|
Interesting outdoor activities for children such as drawing contest, mini version of “Ring the golden bell”, and child centered performances made the events both fun and informative for children and their communities.
With a long coastline and a variety of river networks, Vietnam is no doubt the top destination for water based travel, activities and lifestyle. It can be easily seen that most of local daily life activities would likely involve lakes, rivers or seas. However, only 30% of children aged 6-14 can swim, and most of children do not have water safety skills.
Under the project “Swimming for Life”, Save the Children is collaborating with Prudential Vietnam aiming at building more swimming pools and delivering proper training sessions on security and swimming to benefit 2,500 children or more in the community./.
