At the meeting, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu gave an overview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' external information work. He emphasized that for many years, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has identified foreign information work as one of the main tasks of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad. By well performing the tasks, representative agencies contribute to promoting Vietnam's soft power. Therefore, the ministry has been promoting the image of Vietnam, the people, and the achievements of the renovation process to international friends.

After discussing with heads of delegations, Nguyen Trong Nghia believes that with their expertise and experience, the Heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad will overcome difficulties, continue to strengthen Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, complete all tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Party, State and people, and make practical contributions to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, for an independent, self-reliant, peaceful, cooperative, friendly, developed, prosperous, happy and strong Vietnam that is entering a new era of nation's rise.

Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested they continue to promote relations with neighboring countries, major countries, strategic partners, comprehensive partners, traditional friends, and other important partners in depth and substance. He suggested they deepen the sentiment between the Communist Party of Vietnam and political parties; contributing to consolidating a stable and peaceful foreign situation and creating favorable conditions for national development, and closely coordinating with forces on external information to concurrently deploy internal and external information tasks.

Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that heads of Vietnamese representative agencies abroad need to promote the role of the foreign affairs sector to the fullest, combine the strength of the times, contribute to firmly protecting the Fatherland early and from afar. They need to effectively and practically utilize new relationship frameworks to mobilize high-quality resources for socio-economic development, while proactively researching, monitoring, and grasping international public opinion about Vietnam as well as the thoughts, feelings, and ideas of the Vietnamese community abroad. They must well perform the task of Vietnamese citizens protection, and promotion of Vietnam's good traditions.

Vietnam is planning to hold many important political events in 2025 and 2026. The next two years will also mark the celebrations of Vietnam's diplomatic relations with many important partners. Therefore, Nguyen Trong Nghi suggested the heads of representative agencies urgently develop information and propaganda plans, and mobilize and attract the attention of the media and public opinion in the host country. They should advise and create conditions for foreign reporters to visit and write about Vietnam, notably about important political and foreign affairs events of Vietnam, strongly spreading the message of an "independent, self-reliant, peaceful, cooperative, friendly, developed, prosperous, and happy Vietnam".
