	Vietnam-Russia Relations: Celebrating Years of Close Friendship

A book on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity, authored by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, was unveiled at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 21, which coincided with the 99th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, VNA reported.

The book was edited and published by the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House, the Communist Review Magazine, the Vietnam News Agency, and other relevant agencies.

Divided into three parts, the book is a collection of 92 writings, speeches, talks, excerpts from interviews, and letters by the Party chief, with the earliest piece dating back to 1968. The contents reflect his profound concern over building, preserving and developing the Vietnamese culture with traditional and modern elements to contribute to national construction and development.

The content of the book consists of three parts. In which, the first part "Culture is the soul of the nation," includes 19 speeches and articles by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference to implement the 13th National Party Congress' Resolution; Party Central Committee Conference, national conference to celebrate and preserve Vietnam’s cultural heritage, among others.

The second part "Comprehensive and synchronous development so that culture can truly be an endogenous strength and a driving force for sustainable national development," selects 73 speeches, articles, and letters of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong for cultural fields as well as the construction and development process of cultural agencies.

The third part "From General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's cultural thesis to real life," consists 32 articles and interviews from officials, party members and experts in researching, studying, and deploying, concretizing the Party's policies and guidelines, and the guiding opinions of the Party chief at the National Cultural Conference, associated with building the national value and cultural value systems, family value system and Vietnamese human standards.

It also includes over 90 documentary photos capturing moments of the Party leader in cultural activities, working trips to localities and cultural sector units, and engaging with artists and intellectuals nationwide.

As an outstanding leader of the Party and a cultural expert, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always pays special attention and devotes a lot of enthusiasm to the cause of building and developing Vietnamese culture and people which is inherently a central issue, a strategic breakthrough, a spiritual foundation, driving force and endogenous resource for the cause of national construction and development. At the same time, he also pays attention to directing with practical solution orientations from broad issues to specific fields and aspects of culture.

Following the debut ceremony, the book will be translated into multiple foreign languages to help promote Vietnam's cultural values on a global scale.
