Strengthening Viet-Japanese Friendships with Sports
The Hanoi Karatedo Federation recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with the the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) to develop training, coaching and competition programs for athletes; create and develop scholarships for students; spread Vietnamese and Japanese culture in each country.

Accordingly, the two sides agreed on cooperation contents such as supporting each other in developing karate in activities of establishing training programs, training, competing, and performing in Hanoi and Japan.
At the same time, introduce and nominate students between the two sides to participate in study and research; cooperate in building and introducing scholarship programs for trainers between the two sides; cooperate in organizing summer camps to promote and spread Vietnamese and Japanese culture in each country.
The cooperation between the Hanoi Karatedo Federation and FAVIJA also strengthens cooperation in sports activities and the general community between the parties; organize and introduce training programs to grant professional certificates at all levels in Karate between the two sides, as well as specialized and advanced training programs.
Speaking at the ceremony, FAVIJA Chairman Do Quang Ba, said that the cooperation between the two sides will create products of cultural value, and improve professional qualifications and physical fitness. Moreover, Karate is a traditional sport in Japan but many young Vietnamese people are interested in it. The cooperation between the two sides is expected to help the quality and competition results of Vietnam's Karate in the international arena get better and better.
