Thai Community in Ho Chi Minh City Boost Viet-Thai People-to-people Exchange

The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) celebrated the 96th National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand on December 5.

At the ceremony, Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, congratulated Thailand on the country's achievements in nearly 100 years since its foundation. In recent years, Thai businesses have succeeded when investing in Ho Chi Minh City. The city encourages and welcomes other Thai businesses to come and seek development opportunities.

He acknowledged and appreciated the companionship of the Thai Consulate General, the business community and Thai people in Ho Chi Minh City in promoting social activities, people-to-people exchanges, and cultural exchanges.

"Ho Chi Minh City cherishes its relations with Thailand. The city looks to continue to contribute to the development of the enhanced strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand by promoting trade, investment, cultural, scientific, technological, and people-to-people exchange," said Vo Van Hoan.

He expressed his belief that the relations between the two countries, including the relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Thailand, will continue to sustainably develop, for the friendship and benefits of the two peoples, contributing to stability and prosperity of the ASEAN region.

According to Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Thailand have long-term relations, especially in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Consulate General of Thailand together with Thai Government agencies in Ho Chi Minh City are committed to promoting effective partnerships between Thailand and Vietnam on all levels, especially by supporting Thai investors who have invested in Vietnam from an early stage, contribute to the livelihoods of local communities and adhere to the principles of corporate social responsibility.
