To strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and French Community of Belgium
At the invitation of Deputy PM, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Binh Minh, the Minister – President of the French Community of Belgium (Wallonie – Bruxelles) Rudy Demotte and his delegation will pay an official visit to Vietnam from Sept 13th – 17th on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Wallonie – Bruxelles in Vietnam.

This is an important occasion to sum up 20 years of bilateral cooperation, mainly on higher education cooperation. It is also an opportunity to find a new direction in relations and cooperation between Wallonie – Bruxelles and Vietnam, not only stop in the relations of development cooperation but also upgrade to the partnership in the fields of culture, science, research, trade; expanding the presence of Wallonie – Bruxelles in ASEAN and the region.
In the framework of this visit, Minister – President Rudy Demotte will meet senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam; Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment, Culture – Sport – Tourism, Education and Training, Health; as well as leaders of People’s Committee of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. These high-level talks will open up areas of cooperation of mutual interest and build the partnership in the coming years. The development of integrated projects between research and economic growth will be a priority.
Minister – President Rudy Demottte and his delegations will visit some projects within the framework of cooperation program between Vietnam and Wallonie – Bruxelles, in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. These projects are in the fields of diplomacy, law of the sea, health, irrigation, biotechnology, technical education and vocational training, heritage, culture (including cinema).
Francophone is another important field of cooperation during this visit because Wallonie – Bruxelles always commits to preserve and promote the development of French language, peace, justice, democracy and cultural persity./.
