Two Vietnam’s companies received Indonesia’s Primaduta Award

The two companies are Toyota Motor Vietnam and Vietnam Suzuki Corporation.
Ambassador Hadi welcomed the award which was the first time for Vietnam. "This award is a new achievement in the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Vietnam that is inseparable from the good cooperation between Vietnamese importers and Indonesian product exporters facilitated by the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi," he said.
Ambassador Hadi revealed that the demand for information on Indonesian commodities and business opportunities continues to increase. This is a good indicator in the midst of global economic uncertainty. "With this positive trend, we are optimistic that the value of bilateral trade can exceed 10 billion USD by 2020," he said.
Indonesia - Vietnam trade figures continue to increase every year. In 2018, both countries' bilateral trade increase by around 30 percent to USD 8.46 billion from the previous year of USD 6.5 billion. Based on data from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, in Januari – September 2019 period, the total trade between Indonesia and Vietnam reached USD 6.5 billion, up 8.20 percent compared to the same period in the previous year of USD 6 billion.
To increase trade figures and reach the target of bilateral trade values of USD 10 billion in 2020, the Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi facilitated 29 Vietnamese companies to attend Trade Expo Indonesia 2019 which took place from October 16-20.
The 29 companies are engaged in potential sectors such as fisheries, agriculture, pharmaceutical, manufacturing/industrial, garment and furniture.
Meanwhile, Indonesia's main export commodities to Vietnam include automotive and parts, coal, electrical machinery/equipment, vegetable fats as well as oils and paper./.
