Vietnam Aims to Strengthen Connections with Nordic Businesses
On March 12, in Hanoi, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang attended and delivered a speech at the conference of leaders of Nordic corporations investing in Vietnam.
At the conference, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that after more than 35 years of Doi Moi, Vietnam has strived and achieved great accomplishments of historical significance thanks to the efforts of the entire political system and the support of the people and businesses, based on maximizing internal resources, while having effective support from the international community, including foreign businesses in general and businesses in the Nordic region in particular.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang emphasized Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification, multilateralization, being a friend and reliable partner, an active and responsible member of the international community.

Identifying foreign investment’s important role, Vietnam aims to attract selective investment, creating a spillover connection between the FDI sector and the domestic economy, promoting strong development of the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, and knowledge economy.
Specifically, Vietnam prioritizes attracting investment projects in industries and fields such as green economy, digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy; science and technology, innovation, electronic components, electric cars; potential core technologies such as semiconductor production, new energy, renewable energy; financial center, green finance; biotechnology, health care; high-tech agriculture, etc.
Vietnam continues to promote public-private cooperation, including cooperation with foreign investors, especially in developing production and business models, forming new value chains and industries, and encouraging green production, green distribution, and green consumption systems.
Regarding cooperation with the Nordic region, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang assessed that the relationship between Vietnam and the Nordic region has developed very positively in recent years. The two sides still have spacious room for cooperation, with potentials and advantages that can support and complement each other in various fields.
The Deputy Prime Minister hoped that Nordic corporations and businesses would use their experience and reputation to continue to support and accompany the Vietnamese Government and businesses, proactively have breakthroughs, creative, modern solutions, seize opportunities, and expand investment cooperation in areas where both sides have many strengths and potential.

At the same time, it is encouraged that Nordic corporations would contribute ideas and advise the Government of Vietnam to continue perfecting institutions, mechanisms, and policies, encouraging businesses to apply sustainable business models, and new industries and develop economic and digital sectors, build a green and circular economy.
Nordic corporations and businesses continue to maintain and expand cooperation, especially in consolidating supply chains, ensuring stable production activities for the benefit of both sides in the direction of diversity, transparency, and sustainability.
At the same time, they play a role as an effective bridge, strengthen cohesion and mutual understanding, propagate information about Vietnam's policies and investment environment, thereby strengthening connection with Vietnam businesses and opening new investment opportunities in Vietnam.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested Nordic corporations and businesses to promote several cooperation directions such as finance and banking, green industry, education and training, healthcare, etc.
He affirmed that with the spirit of "harmonious benefits, shared risks," the Vietnamese Government always accompanies, supports, and creates favorable conditions for the business community in general and foreign investors in particular, to invest successfully, sustainably, and long-term in Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister directly clarified the concerns of Nordic corporations and businesses related to administrative reform, electricity supply, agricultural development, human resource training, Vietnam's diplomatic relations, etc.
