Meet Japan 2023 takes place in the context that the two countries are focusing on economic development, seizing and taking advantage of development opportunities in the new situation when the world is in a period of restructuring.
Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang expressed her impression with nearly 1,000 delegates at the event.
Three directions of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan
Through the speeches of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, and Ambassador Yamada Takio, and three discussion sessions with substantive and practical content, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang emphasized three directions for cooperation between the two sides.
Firstly, the past 50 years created a solid foundation to continue promoting the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership to new heights.
The Deputy Minister said that the foundation and relationship between the two countries were inspired many centuries ago and have been continuously nurtured over many generations.
Historical connections, trade in goods, cultural similarities, trust, and sharing of common interests between the two peoples are important factors that strengthen bilateral relations.
"Those are valuable assets in the relationship between the two countries that we all cherish, preserve, and continue to promote. They act as the basis for promoting economic and trade relations, aiming for prosperous development for the happiness of the two countries' people," said the Deputy Minister.

Second, the potential for bilateral economic cooperation is huge and comprehensive in many fields, from trade and investment, to education and training, human resource cooperation, culture, and tourism.
Leaders of Vietnamese localities and Japanese businesses emphasized the potential and opportunities for cooperation such as attracting high-quality FDI, coordinating education, and high-quality training, developing green tourism, cultural exchange, and promoting friendship between the two sides.
New growth trends in the world also open up many prospects for cooperation in new fields, especially green transformation, digital transformation, high technology, innovation, and smart cities, towards more sustainable and smarter development.
Third, the in-depth development of Vietnam-Japan relations opens up the potential to promote cooperation at many different levels, not only deeply at the central level but also strongly at the local level.
The Deputy Minister believed that the scope for cooperation at the local level is still large. This is the direction of cooperation that needs to be prioritized, becoming a driving force to deepen the relationship between the two countries.
Inspiration for cooperation between the two countries
The Deputy Minister shared that after a journey of 50 years, the Vietnam-Japan relationship is at its best stage. Japan has become Vietnam's leading partner in the fields of economics, trade, investment, and labor.
