Vietnam and Yunnan, China Promote Cooperation in High-tech Agriculture

After nearly 4 months of preparation (from April 2021 to present), with the enthusiastic support and assistance of the departments of Yunnan Province, China as well as the departments of 9 northern provinces/cities of Vietnam, on August 23, in Kunming, China, the opening ceremony of a high-tech agricultural and livestock training course was held online.
The training course was organized by the Department of Agriculture of Yunnan province for 185 managers and professional staff of the Department of Agriculture in 9 provinces/cities of Vietnam, including Lao Cai, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Son La.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training course, Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu affirmed that since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic until now, cooperation between Vietnam and Yunnan province has undergone many changes and a new positive cooperation trend has appeared.
The fact that the Departments of Agriculture and the Departments of Foreign Affairs between the two countries have overcome many difficulties and successfully organized this high-tech agricultural technical training course, confirming that the Covid-19 pandemic cannot prevent the trend of cooperation between Vietnam and Yunnan province, China. This contributes to vividly expressing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Following the success of this training class, Consul General Nguyen Trung Hieu suggested that the Department of Agriculture of Yunnan province in the coming time could coordinate with relevant units to continue opening more training courses on processing, preservation and consumption of agricultural products and livestock for the northern provinces of Vietnam.

A representative of Yunnan Province's Agriculture Department said that, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, this training course was conducted in the form of online teaching. This training course has received a positive response from leaders and 185 trainees who are managers and professionals from the Department of Agriculture in 9 provinces/cities in the North of Vietnam. To meet the different needs of students in each province/city in Vietnam, the organizing committee has designed 6 lecture contents including hi-tech farming and breeding techniques.
It is hoped that, through this training course, the managers and professionals of the Departments of Agriculture of 9 provinces and cities of Vietnam can improve related farming and livestock techniques and contribute to the development of the local agriculture.
