The Republic of Korea (RoK) remained the biggest source of visitors to the Southeast Asian nation with 2.9 million, followed by China. They together accounted for 42% of foreign tourists to Vietnam. The US ranked third, followed by Taiwan (China) and Japan.

Meanwhile, the three European countries with the largest visitors to Vietnam were the UK, France, and Germany.
The VNAT said the higher-than-expected number of foreign tourist arrivals to Vietnam is attributable to efforts to develop new products, improve service quality, and promote activities.
With the rosy signs, the ministry has adjusted the year target of 8 million foreign tourists to 12 - 13 million to accelerate the recovery and development of the tourism industry in an effective and sustainable manner.
VNAT has recently organized a tourism promotion program within the framework of the Vietnam Cultural Tourism Promotion Festival in the RoK.
The annual event demonstrates the close cooperative relationship between the two countries, particularly in tourism and culture. It allowed Vietnam to introduce its traditional cultural identity and promote attractive tourist destinations and products to Korean tourists.

It also created opportunities for Vietnamese and RoK investors and tourism businesses to meet, explore cooperation and business opportunities, and enhance two-way tourist exchanges.
In a decision issued on July 22, 2022, on a national action plan on green growth in the 2021-2030 period, the Prime Minister asked the ministry to focus on completing institutions and policy on tourism development management towards green and sustainable direction, and prioritizing green tourism models and products.
The national tourism development strategy until 2030 also clarified the sustainable and inclusive direction of Vietnamese tourism based on green growth and the optimization of tourism’s contributions to sustainable development goals./.
