Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang and the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia had a meeting with the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea in Phnom Penh on October 9.

At the meeting, both officials highly appreciated the long-standing bilateral relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam, which has kept growing at all levels in the spirit of "good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability."

Emphasizing the importance of strengthening extensive cooperation in fields of mutual interest, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang and Minister Sok Chenda Sophea agreed to continue maintaining the exchange of delegations via all channels to share information and experience and continue upholding existing cooperation mechanisms while jointly exploring new, effective and practical cooperation mechanisms for the benefit of both sides.

They also pledged to continue promoting the tradition of mutual consultations on global and regional issues of shared interests and benefits to both countries.

On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang promised to further strengthen the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, he also conveyed the congratulations of Vietnamese leaders to Sok Chenda Sophea on being appointed to a new position - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Sok Chenda Sophea highly evaluated the meeting with Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang, saying it was his first meeting with the neighboring country's ambassador since his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
