Shrestha noted that the travel demand of Nepali people has been recovering quickly after the COVID-19 pandemic, and Nepal is striving to diversify the sources of supply of agricultural products, household utensils, and e-vehicles instead of focusing on traditional markets.
At the meeting with Nepali businesses, Hai briefed the participants on Vietnam’s tourism as well as opportunities for economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
NVCCI Chairman Deepak Malhotra stressed the need to launch direct flights to meet the increasing travel demand of both Vietnamese and Nepali people.
The participating enterprises noted their wish for more trade promotion activities to learn about the respective markets.
During a recent meeting with Nepalese President Ramchandra Paudel, Hai highlighted great advantages in promoting relations between the two countries in the coming time, including friendly cooperation, mutual support, common values in building the country and connection of Buddhism.

The diplomat, however, also pointed out limitations in cooperation between the two countries at present, noting that trade ties still remain modest, at under USD100 million per year.
He affirmed his commitment to making every effort and working closely with relevant ministries and sectors and the business communities of the two countries to further promote all-around ties in the coming time, in accordance with the strengths of the two sides.
For his part, President Paudel agreed with the Vietnamese diplomat on the limitations of the current relations between the two countries, and his proposals regarding developing an effective partnership between the two countries.
He emphasized his hope for the early opening of direct flights between Vietnam and Nepal to promote bilateral tourism and economic and trade cooperation, and called on Vietnamese businesses to increase investment in Nepal./.
