On September 10, the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a meeting to discuss support for union members and workers affected by typhoon No. 3 (Yagi).
Based on the quick reports from provincial and municipal labor federations and central trade unions, the Standing Committee of the VGCL requested the provincial and municipal labor federations and central industry unions to proactively send documents requesting the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund to support union members and workers who died due to the storm (10 million VND/ deceased person); union members and workers who were seriously injured and had to be hospitalized (maximum of 5 million VND/ person).

Assistance from the Union's financial resources should range from 1 to 3 million VND per case.
Localities and sectors unable to balance resources must submit a written request for assistance to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. This request should align with the actual conditions of each locality, sector, and unit, clearly specifying the affected subjects, damage extent, and the necessary support level.
During the meeting, the Standing Committee of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor urged the Confederations of Labor across provinces, cities, and the Central Trade Union to encourage union members and workers unaffected by Storm No. 3 to contribute financially. The aim is to aid regions impacted by the storm and flood, with donations starting at least one day's salary per person.
